Night under the Stars
An overnight bush sleepout under Mashatu's open sky
Skip to product information
Guests leave the lodge after dinner, around nine in the evening, with an overnight bag, and set off on a two-hour night drive to spot nocturnal wildlife across the reserve. The route ends at the WalkMashatu Fly Camp, a set of tents pitched in a different spot each time. There, guests can try night photography, join a short walk in the dark, or sit by the fire swapping stories over drinks and snacks before bed. Tents have no walls beyond canvas, so the sounds of hyena and other animals carry through the night. A light breakfast follows at dawn, before a morning game drive back to camp. Booked as an add-on, for up to six guests; children under twelve are not permitted.
