Explorations

More than forty explorations radiate from the lodge, covering the Sacred Valley at three geographical levels: valley floor, high plateau and mountain. Guests move on foot, by bike or by van, reaching traditional towns largely untouched by tourism, Inca ruins, and lagoons beneath snow-capped peaks. Every outing is led by a bilingual guide trained at Explora's own Guide School, in groups capped at eight travellers. Each afternoon, guides meet guests to plan the next day's route according to interest and fitness. Options range from easy walks to demanding, high-altitude hikes. Routes are chosen daily, not fixed in advance.
