Finca Panda Coffee Farm & Luxury Casitas

Set on ten hectares of working farmland in Volcancito, above Boquete, Finca Panda grows coffee, citrus and avocado among stretches of standing forest. Several kilometres of private road and footpath cross the property, open only to guests and staff. Four casitas sit among the trees, named for the coffee varieties grown around them: Caturra, Catuai, Geisha, Mundo Novo and Pacamara. Caturra and Catuai run to 1,000 square feet with two bedrooms, a full kitchen and two bathrooms; Geisha, Mundo Novo and Pacamara are smaller studios of 600 square feet, each with its own patio. Every casita has a private jacuzzi, gas fire pit and coffee bar stocked with beans grown on site. Nights on the farm run cool, close to 15°C, which makes the outdoor jacuzzi more than decoration. Ruben Batista, the farm's coffee manager, leads tours through the fields and into cupping sessions that include the estate's own geisha lots. There is no restaurant; breakfast is delivered to each casita each morning, and kitchens are built for guests who prefer to cook. Beyond the coffee rows, the cloud forest closes in, and trails from the property connect to the wider trekking network around Boquete, including routes known for sightings of the resplendent quetzal. A scorpion or spider turns up on a patio now and then. Staff are close by to move it along.
