GORILLA TREKKING

Gorilla Heights Lodge sits in the western sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, fifteen minutes from the Nkuringo trekking sector, home to four gorilla families: Posho (seventeen members), Nkuringo (fourteen), Bushaho (nine) and Christmas (eight). The lodge also gives access to the Rushaga sector, with ten families, and Mgahinga, home to golden monkeys. Treks run daily, limited to eight people per family, and last around seven hours through forested terrain. Participants must be fifteen or older and keep a minimum distance of ten metres from the gorillas, with no physical contact permitted.
