Guided Safari Drives
Open-vehicle game drives across a million-acre wilderness
Skip to product information
Guides lead open-vehicle drives across more than one million acres of protected wilderness in Gorongosa National Park, crossing floodplains and threading through fever tree and palm forest. Wildlife is abundant and varied, from lion and elephant to a waterbuck population of over 65,000, and with few other vehicles around, the park can feel entirely private. Morning and evening drives are timed around the light and include a stop for coffee or sundowners, with homemade treats served in the open. Drives run from Chicari Camp, the seasonal tented base on Gorongosa's Urema floodplain.
