Great Wilderness Journey
The Great Wilderness Journey is an eleven-day guided safari that moves through four distinct areas: Victoria Falls, the Linyanti Concession, and two separate parts of the Okavango Delta, finishing with a flight out of Maun.
The itinerary opens with a guided tour of Victoria Falls, with an overnight at Toka Leya in Zambia. From there the route crosses into Botswana for three nights at Linyanti Tented Camp in the Linyanti Concession — game-rich floodplain country where boat cruises run alongside day and night game drives. Three nights follow at Gomoti Tented Camp in the south-eastern Okavango Delta, then three more at Xigera Camp deeper inside the Delta. Both Delta camps sit in private wilderness areas, giving access to wetland habitats that vary noticeably between the two locations.
Activities across the Botswana legs include day game drives, night drives, guided walks, boat trips, and mokoro excursions — the flat-bottomed canoes that move through the Delta's shallow channels. The mix of land and water activities reflects the shift in terrain from Linyanti's open floodplains to the papyrus-lined waterways of the Okavango.
The journey ends on day eleven with a flight from Maun, the main gateway town for the Okavango region.
