Horse Riding on the Reserve

Twenty-two horses are stabled at Grootbos, exercised daily and matched to rider ability, from complete beginners to experienced riders, with pony rides available for children. Guides with years of experience lead routes across the reserve's fynbos trails and sweeping sand dunes, and some horses are trained specifically for beach riding. Rides range from a relaxed trot through coastal scrub to faster stretches along the shore, with views over Walker Bay along the way. All levels are catered for, and transfers to and from the stables are included.
