Shark Cage Diving

Gansbaai, close to Grootbos, is known for its concentration of great white sharks, and boats leave Kleinbaai harbour daily for the trip out to Dyer Island. Guests can lower themselves into a submerged cage as a shark is drawn near, ducking below the surface when it passes, or stay on the top deck and watch from above without entering the water. No previous diving experience is needed, and all gear is supplied on board. Many guests find the view from the deck just as clear as from inside the cage. The outing is not included in the standard lodge rate.
