Walks & Hikes
On-foot access to ancient forest and fynbos mountainside
Skip to product information
Marked trails lead from the lodge into Milkwood forest and up slopes covered in fynbos, the fine-leafed shrubland unique to this part of the Cape. Guests choose between a guide-led route, where a naturalist points out sunbirds, King Protea blooms and the aromatic buchu shrub, or an unaccompanied walk at their own pace. Paths are clearly signed throughout the reserve. Terrain ranges from gentle forest strolls to steeper mountain climbs, with sea views over Walker Bay opening up along the way. Transfers to the trailheads are included, and walks run alongside the reserve's other guided outings.
