Guayascate Lodge
Guayascate Lodge is a hunting property on more than 1,500 acres of cropland and roosting ground outside San José de La Dormida, in Córdoba province. The estate is built around Eared Dove shooting, with fields laid out so birds pass low and often over the grounds. Ten rooms, arranged as singles or doubles, hold groups of up to twenty hunters across roughly 18,000 sq ft of built space. Beyond the property itself, the outfit draws on close to a thousand square miles of additional hunting land in the region, so a slow morning on one field rarely stays slow for long. The lodge runs on a domestic, unhurried register indoors. A shared living room anchors the day's end, with a fireplace and deep seating for reading or resting after a shoot. A pool and two Jacuzzis, one indoors and one out, sit alongside several covered porches used through the morning and evening. Peak dove season runs from March to August. You can hear wingbeats before you see the flock, which is rather the point of staying here.
