Hard Rock Hotel Penang
Batu Ferringhi beach hotel built around Malaysia's largest free-form pool
Skip to product information
Batu Ferringhi Beach runs along the front of this 250-room hotel, facing the Malacca Straits on Penang's north coast. The pool is the centrepiece: a 26,000 sq ft free-form design billed as the largest of its kind in northern Malaysia, with swim-up seating at The Shack and sunbeds reachable straight from a Lagoon Deluxe room deck. Rooms start at 29 m² in the Hillview category and run up to a 182 m² King Suite with its own bathtub over the pool. Seaview rooms and the Rock Royalty Seaview Deluxe sit on higher floors for straighter sightlines to the water. Dining spreads across six outlets, from Starz Diner's breakfast buffet to Sand Bar's beers at sunset and LEÑA's wood-fired pizzas served within earshot of the waves. Lobby Lounge looks straight over the straits, with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Rock Spa runs treatments built around sound and rhythm rather than silence, in keeping with the hotel's musical theme throughout. It is the first Hard Rock hotel built in Malaysia. George Town's colonial core lies a drive away, giving guests a change of pace from the beachfront. Families get their own track, with a kids' club and dedicated suites that include a Playstation and a private courtyard play area. Renovation work on selected rooms runs from March to November 2026, though restaurants, the pool, spa and gym stay open throughout.
