Hållandsgården is a hotel in Hålland, in Sweden's Åre valley, close to a fast-flowing stretch of the Indals river and within reach of the Ristafallet waterfall. The St Olavsleden pilgrim trail runs directly past the property, and the hotel keeps a simple pilgrim wing alongside its regular rooms. It is now run by Mikael, Sara and David Eklöv, the third generation of the family to manage it since their grandfather founded a nearby community college in Hålland. The main house began life around 1910 as a guest house known as Åströms Pensionat, renamed Hållandsgården in 1966; Prince Oscar Bernadotte was among its early visitors.
Rooms run from single and double hotel rooms with shower and WC to family rooms and four self-catering apartments, one as large as 60 m². A separate hostel building holds a large kitchen and dining room for up to 40 people, with showers and toilets down the hall. The property can host up to 140 guests in total. A wooden stave church, built in 1999 as a copy of a medieval design, stands on the grounds and is booked for weddings, baptisms and church gatherings through the summer. Guides lead hiking and mountain trips for course groups, conferences and confirmation camps year-round. Meals are served in the on-site restaurant when the main kitchen is open. It remains, at heart, a working family business.
