Honduyate
Set along the eastern shore of Lake Yojoa, Honduyate faces open water framed by the Cerro Azul Meámbar and Santa Bárbara ranges. A marina runs boat trips, kayak hire and a launch ramp, and staff arrange fishing guides for bass, one of the lake's better-known catches. You can fish from the pier instead, or swim off the shore under posted safety guidance, since the lake also hosts national swimming competitions. Onsite, the Chalet del Lago restaurant serves fried fish in the local Yojoa style, alongside ceviche, soups and grilled plates, in a dining room that opens onto the water; a bar covers cocktails and wine. It is a compact, family-run kind of stay. Beyond the rooms, a botanical garden threads interpretive trails through native orchids, bromeliads, ferns and heliconias, drawing in birds and butterflies alongside a smaller collection of exotic species. Swimming pools and a games room round out the grounds. Breakfast, pool access and Wi-Fi come with every room, with laundry, room service and marina tours available on request.
