Hort's Townhouse

Hort's Townhouse is a Grade II listed pub on Broad Street, in the thick of Bristol Old Town, with 19 boutique rooms set above the bar across two floors. The building has been restored rather than reinvented, and the rooms sit as a modern layer over the old structure. No two are quite alike. The Cosy rooms are the smallest, built for a solo traveller or a couple happy with a compact footprint, while Bigger Boutique and Feature rooms run to expansive windows, high ceilings and, in two cases, freestanding rolltop bathtubs. The Loft has its own stairway up to the second floor and sits apart from the rest. Every room carries a rainfall shower, a Nespresso machine, a stocked minibar and a desk for working. Downstairs, the pub runs on seasonal British produce, from a full breakfast to Sunday roasts, and screens live sport on matchdays. It is a five-minute walk from Bristol Guildhall and about fifteen minutes on foot from Temple Meads station, the route running slightly uphill past the river into the city centre. Check-in starts at 3pm, checkout by 11am. Dogs are welcome in most rooms bar the Cosy's and the Loft. The result reads less like a hotel bolted onto a pub and more like a single Old Town address doing both jobs at once.
