Built for the Philippines Tobacco Company in the 19th century, the façade on La Rambla still carries its Colonial bones: mahogany trim, antique chimneys, and iron balconies facing the promenade. Inside, 169 rooms run from Classic doubles lit by an interior patio to Deluxe rooms on the fifth floor with private terraces and city views. Corner Privilege rooms, set in a building once commissioned by the Marqués de Comillas, catch light from two directions. The Suite Colonial pairs a separate sitting room with a private terrace and pool. Downstairs, El Nido serves Catalan dishes sourced partly from the Boqueria market, a few minutes' walk away, with views over the Ramblas from its main-floor windows. Bar H1898 opens straight onto Pintor Fortuny street, a lobby bar built for passing trade as much as guests. La Isabela terrace sits above the crowds of La Rambla, a quiet deck for a hotel on one of the city's busiest streets. The spa runs a thermal circuit and pool, the only one on the Ramblas, using organic and vegan products. It is a compact, historic address rather than a resort. Twelve meeting rooms, including former tobacco-company offices with their original chimneys, host groups from five to 200. Check-in guests step directly onto La Rambla, with Plaça Catalunya and the Liceu theatre within walking distance.
