Hotel 2 Fevrier Lome

Rising over Independence Square in the centre of Lomé, Hotel 2 Février has stood as the country's tallest building since it opened in 1980, reaching 102 metres across 28 floors of glass and marble. The hotel holds 256 rooms and suites plus a set of serviced apartments, all with air conditioning, Wi-Fi and private bathrooms; the apartments add a full kitchen for longer stays. Every floor looks out over the city on one side and the Gulf of Guinea on the other. Rooms start at 28 m², rising through a 60 m² junior suite with its own living area to an 80 m² executive suite with a double-sink bathroom. The presidential suite runs to 160 m², with two bedrooms, a separate kitchen and its own office. It is a short stay from the market and coast alike. Downstairs, guests can swim in the pool, work out in the 24-hour gym, or book a treatment in one of three spa rooms with sauna and steam room. Event space runs to 3,000 m², including a 1,350 m² ballroom, making the hotel a fixture for conferences and weddings as much as for travellers passing through. The retail arcade holds a hair salon, fashion boutiques and a gallery of tribal art and textiles. Checkout is at noon.
