Hotel Baltvilla

Baltvilla is a small hotel on the shore of Lake Baltezers, ringed by pine forest ten kilometres from Riga. Several families run the property together, and that shows in the scale: this is not a chain hotel with a lobby designed by committee, but a house-sized operation where the owners, Guntis Osis and Iveta Ose, still set the tone. Several rooms open onto French balconies facing the pine forest or the lake. The restaurant kitchen, led by chef Antons, works a seasonal menu and extends it to vegetarian and children's options. A glazed terrace over the water is one of the restaurant's better-known features, particularly at sunset. A children's playground sits on the grounds. The hotel is pet-friendly and near the A1 motorway. Check-in staff can also arrange a fixed-rate taxi to Riga.
