Built behind a traditional wooden Valais façade, Hotel Bellerive keeps its old exterior and reworks the inside in a modern register. The result is a small, family-run hotel in the centre of Zermatt, run by the Noti family, five to ten minutes on foot from the main road and the resort's mountain railway stations. The car-free streets outside stay quiet after dark; you notice it most at breakfast, when the dining room looks straight onto them.
Rooms are organised across four types: Chic, Deluxe, Panorama Deluxe, and Junior Suites, plus a single Sky Room. Each has its own colour scheme and furnishing, but the through-line is the same: clean lines, warm tones, a flat-screen TV, minibar, and a safe. The Panorama Deluxe rooms open onto south-facing balconies with a view of the Matterhorn, their bathrooms fitted with rain showers and light therapy by Gessi. The Sky Room takes the same south aspect and the same mountain, from higher up.
A Valais chalet houses the spa, a low-key wellness space built for unwinding after a day on the slopes. Breakfast runs as a daily buffet. It is a compact stay, built for walking to the lifts rather than driving to them.
