Hotel Bügelhof

Guests arrive straight onto the square: Hotel Bügelhof stands at Sälfjällstorget in Lindvallen, with ski rental, shops and restaurants at the door. The building traces back to a site broken ground on in 1968 and opened as a hotel in 1971, having run under several names before settling into its current one in 1989. The hotel now holds 45 rooms, each finished with alpine-inspired furnishings and modern fittings, ranging from doubles to a family suite. Every room comes with a TV, desk, hairdryer and a lockable ski locker by reception, so boots and boards need not travel further than the lobby. The suite runs to 40 m², with a separate lounge, a queen bed, and a bathroom with both a bath and shower; a connecting double room can be added for extra space. Downstairs, Harry restaurant serves meals through the day, and a relaxation area offers a sauna, Jacuzzi and plunge pool, with a solarium available on request. The mountains rise close behind the square, and skiing back to the door is part of the daily rhythm. Breakfast runs as a buffet each morning. It is a compact, practical base for a ski week, built from a friendship between two men who simply liked snow.
