Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa

Drawn straight from the Atlantic, the water in the Activa pool sits at around 32C and runs to over 300 cubic metres, filtered rather than heated from a tap. It is the only seawater circuit on Lanzarote. Set above the marina at Puerto Calero, the hotel looks out over moored yachts and open water beyond the breakwater. You can move between hot and cold rooms in sequence, following the old thermal-bath logic of contrast rather than comfort alone. The hotel counts 340 rooms in total, most with sea or garden views, along with six suite categories and thirteen rooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility. Double Sea View Superior rooms and one-bedroom Superior Suites face the water directly, with balconies set with a table and two chairs. Meals run through two restaurants, La Magdalena and Oyambre, plus a pool bar for something lighter. The volcanic terrain of Timanfaya National Park lies five kilometres inland, a contrast in geology to the flat run of seawater in the pool below. Puerto del Carmen and its beaches sit a short shuttle ride away. It is a hotel built around water in two forms — pool and sea — with the marina a constant backdrop from the terraces.
