Hotel Hof Galerie
Hung throughout with paintings and objects made by artists living on Sylt, the rooms at Hotel Hof Galerie double as a running exhibition. The property occupies a farmhouse built in 1906, listed for its heritage value, joined to a new wing that keeps the old brick and timber in view against plainer modern lines. It is a compact stay: twenty suites in all, from the smaller Refugiumsuite to the two-bedroom Gartensuite and Hof-Suite, several with private terraces or a balcony looking over the Morsum meadows. A separate house, Hof Galerie, sleeps up to six and adds its own sauna. Breakfast draws on nearby suppliers — bread from the Ingwersen bakery next door, fish from a local fishmonger, eggs from a nearby farm — and is served in a room that opens onto a sheltered courtyard terrace with running water. A wellness area holds a steam bath, sauna, infrared cabin and a small pool, bookable privately during set afternoon hours. Bicycles can be delivered to the hotel's own storage garage, useful given the roughly 200 km of cycle paths across the island, and the Morsum Kliff nature reserve sits within easy reach on foot. The hotel is one of only six on Sylt to hold a Michelin Key. Reception operates from 8am to 5pm, with an emergency line after hours.
