Arriving on Pohjoisesplanadi, guests step into a hotel that has run continuously since 1887, facing Esplanade Park across the street. The building has been refurbished in phases, a project due to finish in 2026, and stays open throughout the work. Rooms come fitted with air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a flat-screen television, each with its own bathroom. It is a compact, walkable address in the city centre. Notes by Kämp, the hotel's restaurant, serves classic dishes built from seasonal ingredients, while Kämp Bar has reopened as a social room with a long history of its own. A fitness centre and a spa and wellness centre round out the facilities, with Kämp Wellness occupying the third floor of the hotel's refurbished inner courtyard wing; a new spa is scheduled to open there in 2026, and treatments follow programmes from ESPA, DMK and Environ. You can hear the low hum of the Esplanade below from an upper-floor room. Suites are the standout stay, described by the hotel as the grandest in Finland, with connecting rooms available for families or groups travelling together. Parking is available on site. The address puts guests within walking distance of central Helsinki's shops and harbour, in a building that has anchored this stretch of the city for more than a century.
