Set back from the centre of Trebinje, some 800 metres away, Hotel Nar occupies a quiet pocket of the town, clear of its daytime traffic and noise. The building is the work of Sarajevo architect Amir Vuk Zec, and its three floors hold 32 rooms, including one Junior Suite, averaging 25 m² with a private balcony or terrace apiece. Rooms carry IPTV, minibar, safe, direct-dial telephone and free wi-fi, along with a bathrobe, slippers and hairdryer. The Junior Suite runs to 40 m² and sleeps up to four, with a French bed, sofa bed and a larger terrace.
Downstairs, a 150 m² restaurant seats 70 and serves local Herzegovinian and Mediterranean dishes through breakfast, lunch and dinner, with room delivery for the latter two. A wine bar seats 22 and pours regional labels made from native grape varieties. In summer, a garden opens for morning coffee and evening gatherings, with a children's playground alongside. Guarded parking for 30 vehicles includes an electric-car charger.
Trebinje's old town, the Hercegovačka Gračanica monastery and the Tvrdoš monastery all sit within easy reach.
