Hotel Neptun
Established in the 1960s on the Lapad peninsula, Hotel Neptun has spent more than fifty years building its name as one of Dubrovnik's fixtures. It has grown into the tallest building in the city, a status that gives most of its 91 rooms and suites a sea view rather than a partial one. The Old Town sits ten minutes away by car. Below the hotel runs a Blue Flag beach, with sun loungers, parasols and towels set out free of charge for guests. Rooms range from Classic and Panoramic to Premium, with balconies looking towards Babin Kuk, Lapad Bay and the Elaphite Islands; Junior and Family suites add a second bedroom for children. Interiors favour a bright, contemporary look over anything ornate, and each room carries air conditioning, a minibar and satellite television. Guests can swim, kayak or take a boat cruise along this stretch of coast, or walk into the Old Town for its walls and history. On site, three à la carte restaurants — Zoë, La Castile and Vista — sit alongside a buffet room, the Royal Terrace, and a cocktail bar. A gym, sauna and beauty salon round out the amenities, and the hotel arranges excursions and evening entertainment. It remains, above all, a straightforward base for a coastal stay near an old city.
