Hotel Zentik Project

Zenti'k Project is a small hotel in Valladolid built around the idea that a room can also be a work of art. Some of its twelve Mayan-style cabins have been reworked by internationally recognised artists, turning bed and wall into a single composition rather than a backdrop for one. Guests move between garden paths lined with fruit trees and more than ten types of orchid, where three species of turtle wander freely. It is open to guests at any hour, at no extra charge. Rooms range from a Double Suite with two beds and a hammock to a Mini Junior Suite with a tub carved from a tree trunk. Dining runs from Naino, a restaurant built on Yucatecan produce and Maya cooking traditions, to Oh La Lá, an ice-cream parlour styled after Art Nouveau and Art Deco design. The result is a compact property that treats art, food and thermal water as parts of one stay rather than separate amenities.
