Hôtel Nomad
No two rooms match at Hôtel Nomad. Each one is built around a theme: a journey, a decade, a personality. Furniture comes from five continents, picked up on the owners' travels rather than ordered from a catalogue, and sits alongside pieces made to their own designs by Québec craftspeople. Lighting runs to originals from Kartell, Herman Miller, Vitra and Artemide, the kind of names collectors track down rather than buy off a shelf. The result reads as a private collection loosely organised into guest rooms, spanning standard rooms and themed rooms up to junior suites and the Florence A. White suite. Air conditioning, a private bathroom, TV and free Wi-Fi are standard throughout. Breakfast is ordered the evening before. Four electric charging points serve the private car park. In 2023 the hotel became the first in Québec City to hold Biosphère Sustainable Lifestyle certification, a fact reflected in details from LED lighting to glass carafes replacing bottled water. It sits on Avenue Sainte-Geneviève, inside the walls of Old Québec, a short walk from the cliffside and the river below.
