Check-in at Hôtel Plein Soleil is a short climb: the property sits on the Pointe Thalémont, above Le François, roughly 30 minutes from Fort-de-France's international airport. Sixteen rooms and suites are spread across five villas built in a Creole idiom, set into 8,000 m² of tropical planting on a rise over the Atlantic. Rooms range from the 30 m² Guest room with a sea view to the Master Pool, Suite Jardin and Suite Duplex, each with a private pool and terrace. The Suite Duplex spans two levels, with its bedroom and bathroom opening onto a terrace that looks over the bay. Interiors mix raw wood, metal and resin in white, beige and black. There is a pool bar, a mezzanine lounge with a koi pond, and a library stocked with magazines and books. The hotel closes annually each September. It is a compact stay, built for quiet rather than volume, with villas that can interconnect by shared terraces for families or groups travelling together.
