I love phants Lodge

Phetchaburi province holds the ground here, a stretch of forest and hill country in western Thailand where a rescued elephant herd now roams semi-wild fields and a lodge sits at the edge of it. Ten room types range from simple forest-view bungalows, set 400 metres from the main restaurant, to a three-bedroom pool villa with its own bar and pool table. Each air-conditioned room comes with a private bathroom, minibar and a balcony or terrace facing either the tree line or the hills beyond. Two pool bungalows and the larger villa add a private plunge pool. From a mountain-view room you can watch the light drop over the elephant fields at sunset, gibbons calling from the canopy nearby. The lodge organises trips further afield: Kaeng Krachan National Park, the Pa La-U waterfall, wild elephant and gaur watching in Kuiburi, and a bat cave at Nayang where hundreds of thousands stream out at dusk. On site, staff run birdwatching walks through the reserve's own grounds, where more than 140 species have been recorded. It is a working rescue project first, a place to sleep second. Meals are taken at the on-site restaurant, with Wi-Fi throughout. Guests come for the animals rather than the finish of the rooms, and the lodge does not pretend otherwise.
