Imbabazi Orphanage
Imbabazi Orphanage is located in Mutura, Rwanda. The establishment is aimed at empowering Rwanda’s children and local communities through education, skills training, and income-generating opportunities. The orphanage is situated on a 148-acre farm which provides income to keep the organisation running. Another form of income is created by offering visitors a range of tour opportunities. Tours consist of learning about the life and legacy of Roz Carr, who was the founder of the organisation, exploring the natural surroundings and seeing the locations where Gorillas in the Mist was filmed. Some tours also include lunch and watching Intore dancing. Visitors can be part of the development of the organisation by making donations. Guided tours are available from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00.
