Indrani Lodge

Indrani Lodge is a fifteenth-century farm reworked into an ecolodge in the village of Loupoigne, in Wallonia's Brabant countryside. The stone buildings keep their medieval bones; the finish is quiet rather than grand. Twelve en-suite rooms are split across five categories, from small to XXL, each decorated on its own terms and fitted with underfloor heating and satellite TV. The restaurant, Petits Éléments, works a farm-to-table line: about 75% of what lands on the plate has travelled less than 150 metres, drawn from a four-hectare garden the team farms in permaculture. An orchard supplies apples and berries; a new greenhouse stands in it. Guests swim in a converted barn: the pool is kept at 29 degrees by a heat pump run on solar power and geothermal energy, and it is open to residents only. A yoga studio runs classes daily, taught across styles from Vinyasa to Yin, and treatments extend to massage and reflexology. The garden itself can be toured on request. Three private function rooms take groups of six to 40 for meetings, with high-speed internet and standard AV laid on. The restaurant seats guests Wednesday to Saturday for dinner, with a brunch buffet every other Sunday. Dogs are not permitted.
