Iniala Harbour House

Iniala Valletta is a cluster of restored palazzos and townhouses along St Barbara Bastion, above Valletta's Grand Harbour. The property is split into seven named houses, each with its own character: Harbour House holds the original suites and penthouses, Vitalis occupies a former townhouse behind limestone walls, and Solis, still opening in stages, will rise to a rooftop pool and dining terrace. Rooms run from a 40 m² city-view suite to a 320 m² townhouse, La Maison, taken over in full for extended stays. The largest residences, the Lucija and the Gallarija, each measure 186 m² and come with a private courtyard or plunge pool. Balconies throughout are the traditional Maltese kind, timber-shuttered and closed, framing the harbour rather than opening onto it. Dining centres on ION Harbour, Simon Rogan's two-Michelin-starred restaurant set above the water, with a tasting menu built on Maltese produce bought at its peak. A sister experience, ION at Sea, moves the same kitchen onto a Riva 44 yacht for parties of two to five. Breakfast is served harbour-side each morning from seven. Guest transfers run in electric London-style cabs, part of a Green Key sustainability programme that also governs water filtration and linen use. Check-in is at street level; the Grand Harbour does the rest.
