Opened in 1973, JAZ Tour Khalef has stood on the Sousse seafront for over five decades, its low white blocks set back from the sand behind gardens of palm and jasmine. The medina lies five minutes away, Port El Kantaoui ten, and the airport at Monastir and Enfidha half an hour by road. Rooms run to a standard 32 square metres, some opening onto garden courtyards, others onto balconies with a direct line to the sea. A family room adds a sofa bed within the same footprint, while the two suites step up to 36 and 52 square metres, the larger with a separate sitting area, two television screens and a rain shower. Meals are split between a buffet restaurant and themed dining rooms, among them one serving fish and seafood in high season and another set on a terrace above the gardens. The spa centre given over to thalassotherapy includes pools of heated seawater at 32 degrees, a hammam scented with eucalyptus, and treatments built around marine algae and mud. A fitness room runs cardio and weights daily, with classes in aquagym and yoga. Two shallow pools and a supervised play programme cover the younger end of the guest list. Parking is free and on site.
