Jiva Hoa Lu Retreat

Arranged around a central pond in the manner of a cluster of northern Vietnamese villages, Jiva Hoa Lu Retreat sits in a limestone valley near Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh. Rooms and villas spread across valleys named Man, Rong, Tra, Moc, Mo, and Mai, each opening to views of karst peaks and rice fields. The Jiva and Hoa Lu Houses are the largest at 179 m², with three bedrooms, a private pavilion, and a 70 m² infinity pool set against the cliffs of Trang An. Tra Garden, reached over a stone bridge, sits beside a grove of tra hoa vang tea trees native to Ninh Binh, with a pavilion for guided tea ceremonies and a private sauna. Smaller rooms run from 32 m² to 84 m², most with a private terrace and a soaking tub. It is a compact stay, but built for stillness rather than scale. Beyond the grounds, the retreat arranges boat trips through Tam Coc's three caves and along the Ngo Dong River, plus visits to Trang An's cave system and Bich Dong Pagoda, carved into the mountainside in the 15th century. Two restaurants serve Vietnamese and international menus, including a dining series inside a restored 125-year-old wooden church. Complimentary bicycles reach the surrounding paddies. You can hear the river before you see it, from most balconies.
