Joali Being
JOALI BEING is a wellbeing resort on Bodufushi Island in Raa Atoll, reached by a 40-minute seaplane flight from Malé. It was built on biophilic principles, meaning the 68 villas and residences are laid out to work with the island's natural energy rather than against it. Each has a private pool, a personal butler known locally as a Jadugar, and a stocked wellbeing bar. Beach villas open onto white sand; water villas stand over the lagoon on stilts, with the sea visible through the floor in places. Grand and multi-bedroom residences run to four bedrooms and two pools, built for family groups travelling together. The resort runs its own Sea Turtle Care Centre with the Olive Ridley Project, treating injured turtles before their release. Wellbeing facilities and spa treatments are reserved for guests aged twelve and over. Rooms come without televisions as standard, though one can be requested.
