JO&JOE Budapest
JO&JOE Budapest is on Dohány utca, in the seventh district, a 20-minute walk or eight-minute drive from Keleti railway station. The address puts guests close to the Museum of Illusions and the district's synagogues and bars. Ninety-one rooms split between shared dormitories and private rooms with en-suite bathrooms, sized from 14 to 37 square metres, sleeping anywhere from one person to eight. Dorm beds come with a locker and a USB socket; some private rooms add a terrace or step-free access. The building runs on a mixed-crowd premise: solo travellers, couples and groups of friends share the same corridors, and staff are on site around the clock. A rooftop bar tops the building, serving cocktails and finger food from a beer wall, though it closes over winter. Downstairs, Joe's Rooftop restaurant does home-cooked dishes in a bar-restaurant hybrid. There is also a ground-floor bar, a snack corner for guests who want to cook or work quietly, and a meeting room of 25 square metres. Wi-Fi runs throughout, and breakfast is served each morning. Check-in starts at 3pm and checkout is by 10am. It is a compact, sociable stay rather than a quiet one, built for people happy to share a room, a bar and a view over the rooftops of central Budapest.
