Jony's Beach Resort

Arriving on foot from the lanes behind Station 1, guests reach the beach directly through Jony's own stretch of sand. The resort holds just 21 rooms, a deliberately small count that keeps service personal. Rooms range from a Deluxe King at 22 square metres to a Family Room with two queen beds for four; several open onto private balconies, and all carry air conditioning, a mini-bar, and tea and coffee facilities. Station 1 is the widest and whitest part of Boracay's shoreline, and Boracay Rock, the island's known landmark, sits a short walk north. Meals run through Mayas, the resort's own restaurant, where Chef Jun works Filipino and Mexican dishes side by side: pork belly lechon kawali, a suckling-pig burrito, and shrimp croquettes with a mango cilantro sauce. Dessert is a bibingka soufflé, paired with coconut mint sorbet. Evenings move to the beachfront patio for mojitos and margaritas as the sun drops over the water. You can walk straight from your room to a kayak, a snorkel mask, or a parasail line, since watersports operators work the sand just outside. D'Mall, with its shops and bars, is within walking distance too. It is a compact stay, built around one very good beach.
