Jyrgalan Yurt Lodge

Set up to serve backcountry skiers reaching Jyrgalan valley, the lodge began as a cluster of shared yurts on the edge of the village and has grown, season by season, into a year-round base with room for 24 guests. Three living yurts sleep eight apiece, arranged hostel-style rather than as private suites. The lodge sits at the mouth of the valley, close enough to the village to matter but far enough to look straight onto the slopes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. There is a sauna for after the cold. Electricity runs off an onsite 220V supply, and Wi-Fi exists, though the signal in the valley is thin and drops without warning. Winters bring snowmobile-assisted backcountry skiing and splitboarding across the surrounding ridges; summers switch the same yurts over to hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. It is a working lodge, not a resort. Staff stay onsite year-round, and the pace outside is set by weather and snowpack rather than by a front desk. Guests reach it from Karakol by shared van or private transfer, then walk or ride the last stretch into the yurts. The valley itself holds the appeal: open, quiet, and close to slopes most lodges only advertise.
