Lalla Takerkoust holds Kalyptus Luxury Camp on a hillside above the lake, a stand of eucalyptus trees screening the tents from the open steppe beyond. Marrakech lies 45 minutes away, close enough for a day trip and far enough that the road noise never arrives. Opened in 2020, the camp was the first tented property of its kind in the region, built on Amazigh design with modern comforts layered in: air conditioning, private bathrooms, and premium bedding throughout. Four tent categories rise in scale from the 35 m² Deluxe Tent to the 83 m² Royal Tent, each with a living area and, in the higher categories, a private terrace facing the Atlas Mountains. Nights are quiet. Three dining areas serve a kitchen built on local produce, and an outdoor pool sits open to the mountain view. Beyond the camp gate, the Agafay desert offers camel rides and quad tours across its stone dunes, while sunrise hot-air balloon flights lift off toward the Atlas foothills. Cooking classes and yoga sessions round out the stiller end of the programme. The lake at Lalla Takerkoust catches the light most evenings, visible from several tents. It is a compact, self-contained stay, built for couples and families who want desert scenery without giving up a proper bed. Front desk and Wi-Fi run around the clock.
