Check-in happens inside a former paper mill on the Sihl river, its original columns left standing rather than stripped out. The Home Hotel Zürich, part of Design Hotels, turned a structural constraint into its signature: load-bearing pillars that couldn't be removed now stand dressed in greenery and lighting through the public rooms. Rooms run from a 25 to 28 square metre Comfort category up to a 55 square metre Superior Suite with its own living room and kitchenette. Several categories, labelled Signature, add a full kitchen with fridge, microwave and stovetop for stays of a week or more. A Triple Room and a wheelchair-accessible Superior option round out the layout. Downstairs, LouLou's bistro serves French bistro cooking alongside a raw bar of oysters and shellfish, and the LivingRoom & Bar runs cocktails and DJ sets into the night. Guests get free use of a coworking space one tram stop away, plus access to a 2,000 m² fitness and spa complex next door. Bikes are complimentary too. It is a compact, design-led stay built for people who work by day and stay out late.
