Kingston TOP 10 Holiday Park
Where Lake Wakatipu goes quiet, an hour south of Queenstown
Skip to product information
Set at the calm southern end of Lake Wakatipu, Kingston TOP 10 Holiday Park sits in the small township of Kingston, an hour's drive from Queenstown. The lake laps close by, ringed by the Eyre and Hector ranges, and the water stays still enough at this end for paddling and fishing rather than the wind that hits Queenstown's shores. Accommodation runs from motel studios and family units to log cabins, ensuite and standard, plus powered and unpowered sites for campervans and tents. A communal log kitchen and lounge anchor the park, stocked with two ovens, a microwave and full cookware, alongside a separate barbecue area with three grills and a pizza oven. It is a working eco-park: waste water runs through an Eloy recycling system, and laundry machines dispense their own detergent so guests bring none of their own. Two new alpine bath houses let guests fill a private tub at their own pace, towels and a Bluetooth speaker included. Native plantings along the gravel banks have drawn bellbirds and tui into the grounds. The Kingston Flyer steam train departs from the old railway station nearby, and the Around the Mountains Cycle Trail starts almost at the gate. You can watch the mountains change colour over the water from the picnic tables by the fire. Reception opens at 8am daily.
