Kronwell Brasov Hotel

Lit by floor-to-ceiling glass, the C-Bar sets the tone for a hotel built on clean lines rather than period detail. Kronwell opened in February 2013 in the centre of Brașov, a short walk from the train station and the Gothic Biserica Neagră church. Rooms and suites are finished plainly and comfortably, without excess. Downstairs, the Belaqva spa runs guests through a thermarium circuit of jacuzzi, steam room and Finnish sauna, followed by cold showers or a salt cabin meant to ease inflammation. You can follow that with a swim in the indoor pool or a session in the attached gym, which runs on Technogym and RealRyder equipment alongside group classes. Food is split across three rooms with distinct characters. Couchette Traveller's Bistro serves European and Asian dishes under chef Vasilică Bejenaru; Adagio offers a pastel-toned room with an open-air terrace for private events; the C-Bar pours a serious spirits list beneath its glass front. Families get the Happy Shark playground. The hotel works equally for a business trip and a weekend away, with transfers arranged to the airport, the train station and the town's sights. It was named Hotel of the Year in the Independent Hotels four-star category for 2025.
