La Belle Tortue
On Silhouette Island, a twenty-guest lodge between forest and white sand
Skip to product information
Set on Silhouette Island, roughly 45 minutes by boat from Mahé, La Belle Tortue faces its own stretch of white sand within a protected natural park. The island ranks third in size among the Seychelles group, its interior thick with tropical forest that runs down almost to the shore. The lodge keeps to a human scale: only twenty guests at a time, across rooms, suites, and villas that include the Villa Présidentielle and the Villa Anne Dieu Le Veut. Each room carries air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, a television, a safe, and a telephone, and a terrace looks out over the garden toward the water. Dining runs on two registers. By day, Kaz à Stan serves a relaxed beach-shack menu; by night, La Table d'Eva turns out fusion cooking built on fresh, local ingredients, paired with a wine list drawn from vineyards around the world. Guests can arrange a private diving safari to explore the reefs off Silhouette, and the jetty lies only minutes from the lodge. The pace here favours conversation over spectacle. It is a small, quiet base, built for couples, families, or anyone travelling alone who wants the island close at hand.
