La Portenita Lodge

Set on high ground above the Córdoba countryside, La Porteñita looks out over open farmland from every porch. The house began as a private family home before its current life as a hunting lodge, and the two functions still sit side by side: polished floors and en-suite bedrooms alongside gun racks and boot rooms built for early starts. The main house holds six bedrooms, each with its own bath, while a separate villa adds three more with private baths, putting nine total across the property. It sleeps a full hunting party without doubling anyone up. A sunken fire pit lounge anchors the evening routine, set apart from the main terraces for conversation after dark. Around it, the swimming pool and a run of covered porches give the property several distinct outdoor rooms rather than one long veranda, each catching the light differently through the day. Meals run family style, with wine kept flowing and the kitchen turning out asado alongside grilled goat and other regional staples. Laundry and boot care are handled overnight as a matter of course, clothes and gear ready again by morning. The land beyond the pool falls away into the fields that draw hunters here in the first place, with dove flying low over the treeline at dusk. It remains, in outline, a house built for a family — now run for guests instead.
