La Ramade Avranches

Avranches sits at the edge of the bay of Mont Saint Michel, where the tide runs out for kilometres and the abbey's spire is visible across the flats. La Ramade occupies two villas set back from the water in Marcey-les-Grèves, a short drive from the shore. Villa Ramade, a mid-20th-century mansion, opened first with ten rooms restored in pale beige tones and floral prints. Villa Madile followed in 2014, more contemporary, facing a French-style garden. Rooms run across five categories, from a 17 m² Standard with a double bed to the Passiflore suite, a two-storey garden annexe of 45 m² with exposed beams and its own terrace. Some Privilège rooms in Villa Madile look over the garden, occasionally with a balcony. A restaurant, La Table de l'Escu, is built into the main house, and breakfast leans on bread, cheese and jam from local producers. There is a bar, a jacuzzi and a seminar room lit by a window running the length of one wall, holding up to 25 people in theatre style. You can walk the causeway to the Mont at low tide or drive out to the Christian Dior museum at Granville. It is a quiet base for exploring the bay, not a stop along it.
