La Roata
Built from six farmhouses over 120 years old, moved beam by beam from villages across Bucovina, La Roată reassembles them around a shared garden on the edge of Gura Humorului. Each house keeps its original name and timber frame: Casa Zenovia, Casa Elisabeta, Casa Anastasia, Casa Vasile, Casa Dumitru and Casa Mălina. Four newer cottages, Casa Ramona, Casa Nela, Casa Olga and Casa Ana, stand alongside them, built to the same low-slung, wood-clad style. Rooms and apartments come with Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge and a private terrace or balcony. It sits 900 metres from town. Breakfast is served at Constantin, a dining room built around family recipes and produce from nearby farms. A covered grill house, centred on a traditional Bucovina wood-fired stove built by local craftsmen, seats up to 50 for evenings around the fire pit. There is a sauna, both wet and dry, a conference room for 25, and an indoor and outdoor play area for children. The property sits at 540 metres altitude, with the painted monasteries of Voroneț and Humor a short drive away, along with a ski slope and an adventure park with a zip line. Guests can hear the garden settle into quiet once the light drops behind the ridge.
