Observation Tower

Built into the branches of a giant kapok tree, the tower's platform sits 38 metres (124 feet) above the forest floor, level with the canopy rather than looking up at it. From here you scan the treetops for birds, monkeys, insects, and flowering plants that stay out of sight at ground level. It is a 15-minute walk from the lodge, and a guide accompanies visitors either in the morning or the afternoon, timed for when the canopy is most active. The height and stillness make it suited to photography and filming as well as birdwatching. No amenities at the tower itself; it is a viewing platform, not a shelter.
