La Suite Villa

Set above Anse Mitan, La Suite Villa looks straight down the slope to Fort-de-France Bay, the water changing colour through the day from slate to turquoise. The hotel holds six suites and nine villas, each with its own terrace and a private jacuzzi or heated plunge pool. Interiors mix contemporary lines with local art, a deliberate counterpoint to the tropical garden outside. An infinity pool runs along the same sightline as the bay, so the two horizons appear to meet. Two restaurants anchor the food side. Le Zandoli serves a refined, ingredient-driven menu built on relationships with island fishermen and farmers; O Ti Zandoli offers a more relaxed, shared-plate take on the same local produce, on a terrace facing the water. The LSV Bar stocks a serious rum list alongside cocktails and cigars. The beach is a short walk off. Trois-Îlets golf course, an 18-hole layout on the coast, lies a couple of kilometres away, and Fort-de-France is reachable by ferry across the bay. Room service runs into the evening. It is a compact, self-contained base for a stretch of Martinique's southwest coast.
