Lalibela Game Reserve Tree Tops Safari Lodge - Luxury Room

Lalibela Game Reserve, on 10,500 hectares of Eastern Cape grassland and forest, built Tree Tops Safari Lodge to sit inside the trees rather than above them. The five suites rest on raised, thatched platforms at canopy height, joined by timber walkways strung through the indigenous forest so guests move between rooms and lounge without touching the ground. Each suite has double-insulated canvas sides and wide windows facing into the branches, with an en-suite bathroom, a private deck, a coffee station, a safe and Wi-Fi. It is a small lodge. Ten guests is the maximum at any time, and children under fourteen are not accepted. The lounge, bar, dining areas and fire pit sit above an active waterhole, drawing game and birdlife into view through the day; the Knysna turaco, with its red flash of wing, is a local favourite among birders. Rangers lead game drives, night drives, walks and Big Five tracking across the wider reserve, home to lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard alongside cheetah and hyena. Between outings, guests use the pool and its shaded gazebo. You can hear the forest close in after dark, when the walkways are the only way through. Check-in is at noon, checkout at 11am.
