Laxsik Ecolodge
Trekkers reach Muong Hoa Valley on foot, along paths cut through terraced rice fields recognised by UNESCO. Laxsik Ecolodge stands above that valley in Sa Pa, Lao Cai, its layout modelled on an early 20th-century H'Mong village. Rooms and bungalows are built in timber and stone, a nod to the region's stilt houses, with private terraces facing the rice terraces and hills beyond. The Family Bungalow sleeps up to five across two bedrooms, with its own fireplace and a 50 m² floor plan. Deluxe rooms open onto balconies with garden or mountain views; the Poolside rooms sit closest to the infinity pool. It is a compact, low-rise lodge. Muong Hoa Restaurant, designed around the shape of an old stilt house, serves organic produce from nearby farms and looks straight down the valley. Guests can join a trekking programme through the terraces or a cooking session built around H'Mong cuisine with the lodge's chefs. At Pơ Mu Spa, treatments include a Red Dao herbal bath, a therapy drawn from local practice. Facilities extend to a gym and yoga sessions, both included for guests staying on site. Evenings bring the valley into shadow, with the terraces below lit only by scattered village lights and, on clear nights, a wide stretch of stars overhead. Sa Pa's night market and the Silver Waterfall lie within reach for a day out.
