Le Ali del Frassino

Arriving through the Lake Frassino nature reserve, guests reach a cluster of five buildings built around an early twentieth-century villa and its old lemon houses, all set within more than 70,000 square metres of parkland near the Lugana vineyards. The main dining room, Ardea Purpurea, sits over the water on a terrace named for the red heron that nests in the reserve; its walls carry the bird's likeness in ornament. A second restaurant, Il Tuffetto, runs through the warmer months by the pool, serving grilled dishes and juices to guests moving between sun loungers and the water. It is a short walk from Peschiera del Garda. Rooms and suites come fitted with air conditioning, a minibar, and a flat-screen television, standard rather than showy. The spa operates by reservation, with saunas, bio saunas, and whirlpools available even to guests not staying overnight. Dogs are welcome throughout the resort, including a stretch of the pool area kept for them in summer. Beyond the terraces, the reserve itself invites long walks, with herons and other waterbirds visible from the paths. The lake laps close enough to the restaurant that dinner and the water feel like one setting. Weddings and family celebrations are hosted in the villa's larger rooms on request.
